Hey, I just found this site and realized that this is the locomotive that gramp had a picture of in his living room. In fact, it is the same as the one on display Waterville, Me. He told us kids many years ago that during summer vacation and then after he graduated high school, he worked on that engine as a fireman, He had to shovel the coal onto the fire. If I remember right, he was called to the military. Afterwards he went back to his home in Waterville which was situated a short distance from the train yard. I can remember the house that great grammy lived in, where grampa grew up. It was right behind the Dairy Queen. It was at this time that he was an engineer on that same engine. Grampa passed away in 1994 and I think my sister has that picture of the 470. Gramps name was Ralph A. Emery, Maybe someone knows of him.
